Want Success More Than You Fear Failure

Wed Oct 21st, 2015 3:09 am

Maybe a little early, but I’m considering my goals for the Holiday Season of 2015. Although it’s only mid October, life seems to be coming at us fast, so I’m not waiting.

You might think setting fitness and wellness goal in the thick of the Holidays is a bad idea. There are parties to attend, drinks to be had, meals to … well… gorge.

Which is precisely why I think goals, at this time of year, are appropriate.

I spent the first 4 or 5 decades of my life NOT making plans for my future, once I discovered the magic of reaching goals, a whole new world opened up to me. If you have not experienced the life-altering, life-path-cutting benefits of adhering to a goal, you are missing out on one of God’s most precious gifts.

What is one thing you want to improve about yourself? Do you want to lose weight? It sounds vein to hear this in writing, but I meet so many women who long to look in the mirror at a different physic. Do you want to set a legacy for your life that involves being well enough to travel? Or to be strong and balanced? Are you still re-living a past injury, using it as an excuse to avoid mobility? What is it for YOU that will make your life one step better?

Success takes ONE TINY STEP at a time! WANT SUCCESS!

So many people comment that they don’t want to set goals because they’re afraid of not making them. WANT SUCCESS!

Want Success more than you fear failure!!

A few years ago, I NEVER would have seen myself, hand-over-hand on monkey bars or gymnastics rings. I would have never had the confidence to traverse walls, or claw up muddy terrain like in the Spartan Obstacle Course Race. In my past, my MO was to look down at whoever was watching, giggle, and say “I can’t do this,” just IN CASE I Failed! (Which I inevitably would.)

As such, (without being aware of it) failure became my goal.

That is a really shitty way to live! If you don’t know the difference, JOIN me In setting goals and purposing NOT to fail! It’ll change your life! “God did not give you a spirit of timidity! He gave you a spirit of LOVE, POWER, and SELF CONTROL.”

I now wear a Tattoo with that verse from 2nd Timothy, and the proclamation for Relentless Forward Progress.

It is no longer an option for me to not set goals. It is my Obligation and my Responsibility to succeed.

And so, I am here on October 21, processing baby steps to be able to jump an 8 foot wall, and climb a 25 foot rope by March… Gain a better social-media presence for MFT…. Plan a Holiday gathering….
